APNR Southern Ground-Hornbill Project studies the social behaviour of Southern Ground-Hornbills in the greater Kruger area and the consequences of social behaviour for individual fitness and population dynamics. This project also contributes to the conservation of this species by reintroducing the birds back into their historical range, expanding the population in the hope to downgrade their endangered status in South Africa. The project is run by Kyle Middleton, Carrie Hickman and Rita Covas in collaboration with Susie Cunnigham, Claire Spottiswoode and Fanny Rybak.
