Research Interests

My scientific interests span a wide range within behavioral ecology and evolutionary ecology, particularly focusing on among-individual variation. So far, my research has primarily focused on two avenues: the ecological and evolutionary consequences of both matching habitat choice and the heritability of the environment.

To delve into these topics, I have employed a multi-pronged approach, both theoretical and practical, including the use of simulations and quantitative genetics models, as well as experiments in both captivity and the field with wild birds. This has led to very fascinating results about how individuals sometimes can actively shape their own evolutionary dynamics.

Now, at the Sociable Weaver Project, my research will focus on studying the fitness benefits of social associations.
